There were 12 finalists chosen in Saudi Arabia’s annual beauty contest for camels. The owners of the camels stand to make millions for the most gorgeous camel. Beauty is judged by the length of their neck, the broadness of their cheeks, the shape of the hump and how droopy the lips. There is however one requirement “all beauty must be natural”. Several of the camels in the month long festival, which included 30,000 contestants, were disqualified when it was discovered they had been injected with Botox. Scull size is an important factor in choosing the winner. Owners were injecting the camel’s lips, nose and jaw all in an attempt to make the animal appear to have a larger head.
